Vancouver - 4 day workshop

Reel 2 Real International Festival for Youth and Our World partnered for a summer Vancouver workshop inviting indigenous youth to make a short documentary.

We are happy to report we had a list of interested youth but summer is a hard time to block off time. Many people like to travel or get summer jobs!

Lucky for us we had an incredibly gifted and keen person who still wanted to attend! Enter Emma Joye Frank! Emma had already experienced making films, in fact she showed us Hase'- Breath of Life and Project Watershed created in previous workshops!  AND she came with a new idea already percolating...

The workshop was intense and Emma worked a solid 4 days, conducting 2 interviews over the phone and visiting the Museum of Anthropology to film some b-roll - both inside and outside of the museum. What was shared in the afternoon screening on July 28th was an experimental, thoughtful and beautiful documentary about the Tribal Canoe Journey. If you don't know anything about it...then it is the perfect film for you!
