Old Crow workshop day 2
Day two and a lot happened! WOW!
Mary Jane worked so hard animating her Gwich’in traditional doll…the Jijuu doll speaks, and gestures and even does the jig!
Kayleen worked more on her voice over text and concept…perhaps something about the directions: north south east and west, discussions were had about where her photos took place and if they occurred during the sunrise (east!) or sunset (west)…Kayleen even made a compass out of sticks for an animation out by the river…
Vernon Jr came by and watched the animation he made with his brother, his sister’s film which he is in, and a film his grandma made about his grandpa. Jr also made 2 amazing drawings of camp…he is thinking about making a film…
Brandon will write a 3-5 minute piece that we can record, with the idea that someone else may make some animation or add photography for…Brandon always has great things to share around his language work and his connection to Elder stories and cultural knowledge so even though he doesn’t have time to edit it could be fun to still try to put something together.
Sophie was under the weather and Lisa was working…we hope to see them on Saturday!
Big thanks to Darryl the Chef again - for the beef rice soup and sandwiches!
Today was also a free folk music show at the community hall. Thanks to Deb and Shannon for the music.
A wonderful day…
